Meet Megan

Hi Everyone! I’m Megan. I’m a former elementary school teacher and children’s event planner. I live in Massachusetts with my husband and four children (ages 10, 8, 6, and 4).

Disney is memorable.  Disney was my childhood. My parents both enjoyed it and spread that love to my sister and me.  Now it’s my turn. Having children and seeing Disney through their eyes is one of the many joys of parenting. I know some people start the process of planning a Disney trip and get super stressed at all the choices, from where to stay, what “extras” to add, where to eat…how often to eat…meal plan or not (definite yes!) …the list goes on and on and on. But me? I live for putting all these choices together and creating something that will be tailored to the entire family. You want matching outfits (and no, I won’t tell your significant other)? I know where to get them (budget friendly, of course!).  I know all the tips and tricks and look forward to sharing them with you. I welcome questions, as every question allows me to probe further into what is going to make the most sense for your family.

Prior to becoming a member of Discover the Magic Travel, my sister was planning a trip for her family and she needed help making sure that everything was accessible for her younger child who uses a wheelchair as the primary mode of transportation. I explained the DAS system and how that works in conjunction with Lighting Lanes and Genie Plus. I also mapped out which hotels made the most sense based on Disney transportation options. I have families that want to be front and center for the parades but who don’t want to spend hours holding their places. Want to check out Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween or maybe Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party? Here’s when to buy the tickets, how to maximize your time before and after the party at Magic Kingdom, and where the best treats are located. Does your child have their heart set on meeting one particular character who does not make appearances often.  Rest assured, I will find a way to make their dreams come true. Do you have a plan B if it rains?  Of course you will!

I just returned from my first trip with the family to Disneyland to attend Pixar Fest and it was one of the most magical experiences for my family! My kids delighted in meeting all those lovable characters and discovering California Adventure.  My daughter, who recently turned four and loves all things princesses, wanted to go to a princess breakfast while we were there. Boy were we glad we did! The experience was vastly different from Disney world, and it allowed me to begin to understand the way the parks are constructed. Such valuable knowledge I will undoubtedly use to help my clients in planning their perfect Disney adventure!

Oh, those experiences…does your little one long for a princess makeover? Then I will book them an appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Want to build a lightsaber? Did you know that there is someone that will come to your hotel room and not only build one for each of your children, but teach them how to be a Jedi? You heard me correctly, they can be a jedi! Yes, some of the tips and tricks are budget savers; others are time-maximizers. There is something for every one of your family members and it is my job to put together the puzzle and plan a vacation that will be remembered for a lifetime. Whenever is the right time for you and your family, I will bring a little bit of pixie dust and a whole lot of magic!

XO,
Megan
